In 1937, Japanese imperialism invaded China on a large scale, causing refugees and displaced people in various regions. To provide relief for refugees, the Republic of China Post issued a set of donated stamps, which includes an additional double of the postage, with the donated portion used for relief purposes.
The main picture of this stamp set is a family of six, supporting the elderly and children, fleeing from their hometown. On both sides of the stamp, there are eight characters: "Relief for Refugees" and "Donated Stamp". The upper part of the stamp is marked with the words "Republic of China Post", and the lower part is marked with the stamp face value plus donation. A complete set of 6 pieces, with the same main pattern but different border patterns. The face value is eight cents+eight cents, twenty-one cents+twenty-one cents, twenty-eight cents+twenty-eight cents, thirty-three cents+thirty-three cents, fifty cents+fifty cents, one yuan+one yuan. Printed by the American Banknote Company. Print a full sheet of 100 pieces (10x10).
This set of stamps was fully printed in the United States in October 1941. Due to the war, the first batch of stamps were sunk by the Japanese army on their way to China, resulting in the loss of all 1 million stamps. The renewed stamps were not shipped to Chongqing until May 1944, and postal fees had been adjusted. Therefore, they were added with characters and values to continue to be used. The stamped face values are: two yuan+two yuan, four yuan+four yuan, five yuan+five yuan, six yuan+six yuan, ten yuan+ten yuan, and twenty yuan+twenty yuan. It was officially issued on October 10, 1944. The official issuance of the relief stamp for refugees is a modified value stamp, and the original stamp that has not been stamped is extremely rare.
This product is a rare sample ticket that has not been stamped with a change in value and is archived by the postal service.
